Madagascar's Independent National Electoral Commission of the Transition (CENIT) will await the outcome of a joint high level SADC/AU mission starting on 09 July 2013 before deciding on new election dates.
The World Bank agreed to provide $10 million to support locust control in Madagascar.

The drought response is continuing.
Regional:
The annual SADC National Regional Vulnerability Assessment Committee Dissemination meeting is taking place in Swaziland from 8 to 10 July 2013. The meeting is a forum for SADC Member States to discuss the results of their annual national vulnerability assessments with the aim of having a regional view of vulnerability linked to food security and other sectors for the coming year.
